Top 7 Things To Do In Salem With Kids This Week

Here are Macaroni KID Salem's picks for the seven things to do in the Salem/Keizer area with kids this week.

Bingo Party!

Keizer/Salem Senior Area Center hosts bingo parties, where you can play all 16 games (early bird, regular, blackout, and "on the way up" games)! All ages welcome, but this is serious bingo!

$4 to play multiple games. Thursday, Mar. 6 from 12:30 p.m.


Read to a Pet

Grab your favorite book or something new and read to some furry volunteers and their human partners from 1 - 2:30 pm in the Children's area of the public library. This is a great way to practice those reading skills!

FREE. Saturday, March 8 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.


Crafting Connections: Using Art To Strengthen Families

Radness Ensues hosts a free structured monthly craft night for parents and children to spend time together and creatively express themselves. Food and craft supplies will be provided! You must register to attend this free event.

FREE. Saturday, March 8 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 


Salem Saturday Market

Come check out the Saturday Market full of local vendors! It is officially open for the season! The market begins on the corner of Summer Street and Marion Street downtown. 

FREE. Saturday, March 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.


Tinker Tech (elementary)

Come tinker on the second floor of the Main Library! STEAM kits are available to use for 30 minute sessions. Most kits are made for kids in grades 2-5, but some are available for younger children.

FREE. Tuesday, March 11 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.


Kingdom Kids

Kroc Church presents Kingdom Kids, a new program for fun, fellowship, and character building. Each week kids will engage in arts & crafts, music, and Bible teachings, as well as eat together and play games! Meals are included! No membership, day pass, or payment required!

FREE. Wednesday, March 12 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.


Color-ama!

If your kid likes coloring, come hang out! A table-sized coloring page will be available as well as individual bookmarks and coloring pages.

FREE. Thursday, March 13 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.


Bonus: Bauman's Farm and Garden

Shop at a local farm and garden store right outside of Salem in Gervais, OR. While you shop, take your children to visit the playground. They have playgrounds for all ages including 2 covered areas and one open area to play. There are long slides and even farm animals to pet.
