Gabe Gallegos. The man behind the camera.
We asked local Salem photographer, Gabe Gallegos, some questions about his photography business, how he became interested, and how it serves the Salem community. Here's what he had to say!
What’s your connection to the Salem community?
I’m deeply rooted in this community, not just as a photographer, but as someone who genuinely cares about the people here. I’ve grown alongside many of the families and individuals I now get to photograph, and I see this work as more than a job—it’s a way to capture the beauty, growth, and stories of the people around me. Whether it's through church, local events, or everyday life, I’ve made it a point to stay involved and available.
What interests you in photography?
Photography allows me to freeze moments that would otherwise pass us by. I’ve always been drawn to storytelling, and images have a way of speaking without words. Whether it's a laugh shared between loved ones, a quiet moment of reflection, or the chaos of real life—I want to capture all of it. I see photography as ministry, art, and connection all rolled into one.
