FREE trainings available throughout April by Liberty House Children's Advocacy Center!

By Max Gutfreund and Sasha Simons March 27, 2025

📣Attention Macaroni KID Salem families! 📣

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and we have an amazing resource for you! iRespect&Protect is a passionate community campaign supporting the Child Advocacy Center at Liberty House, proudly serving Marion and Polk counties. iRespect&Protect helps children, youth, and adults recognize their self-worth and the influence of device use on their lives. YOU can have conversations about social media, low self-esteem, sexting, cyberbullying, curiosity about pornography, depression, anxiety, self-harm, and suicide with kids, teens, parents and trusted adults!

Every year, iRespect&Protect proudly offers their prevention trainings virtually and for FREE in both English and Spanish. Parents, caregivers, and any adults who work with children can sign up for as many trainings as they want throughout the month of April!

The list of online trainings are available below in English and Spanish:

All parents, caregivers, and adults who work with children are encouraged to register here for any of these trainings. You do not have to be a resident of Marion and Polk county to participate. You are welcome to share this resource with anyone you know. Let's work together to protect our children! Together, we can raise awareness and make a difference!

What else is going on in Marion and Polk county to raise awareness?

According to the Marion County website, the blue pinwheel is a national symbol of Child Abuse Prevention and represents the safety, happy, and carefree childhood we want for every child. Join other community members and families for the Child Abuse Prevention Car Parade on April 4th and check out the Marion County website for all Salem/Keizer locations and events raising awareness for this important cause!
